Amicae

The Amicae or Friends of Zeta, are women who do not have college degrees and are ineligible for Sorority membership. The Zeta Amicae Auxiliary is sponsored by a local graduate Zeta Chapter. Their major function and purpose is to lend assistance to Zeta activities. They are a separate organization that conducts community service activities on their own and jointly, with their Zeta chapter.
Each auxiliary is named for the city in which it is located and has its own officers. The Cincinnati Amicae are always interested in welcoming women who share the ideals and goals of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
The Beta Zeta Zeta chapter’s Amicae Auxiliary was chartered on April 27, 1996 by its organizer, Doris L. McAdams. Charter members include: Alvinia Bradshaw, Patricia Brown, Catherine Brundage, Lynette Bunton, Betty Connons, Selma Hudson – the first President, Deborah Haynes-McGowan, Sandra Poole, Shirley Smith and Clarissa Stokes White. The Amicae are a vital component of BZZ Chapter, annually presenting a community health fair and major fundraiser.
